I retook this test today - this is totally me: 

An ESFJ at odds with self is a remarkable sight. When a decision must be made, especially one involving the risk of conflict (abhorrent to ESFJs), there ensues an in-house wrestling match between the aforementioned black-and-white Values and the Nemesis of Discord. The contender pits self against self, once firmly deciding with the Right, then switching to Prudence to forestall hostilities, countered by unswerving Values, ad exhaustium, winner take all.

I must admit, the thought of people in Boston going all out for country fest kind of made me laugh…but the people up here did pretty well at supporting Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesny. I was thoroughly impressed. 60,000 fans filled Gilette Stadium, (night 2) tailgated all day…and all in defiance of Hurricane Irene. We toughed out the rain, and Kenny and Zac jammed out for us in the end, doing some off the cuff performances of Baby Got Back, Dixieland Delight and Tom Petty. Priceless. The only thing that was lacking was a swing dance partner…that was one thing that Boston just didn’t have. 

Talking to a great friend tonight and she told me this:

“But that’s what grace is for. Let me tell you, you have no idea how much heart you have. Because when the right man finds you, you’re gonna be overwhelmed with love for and from him. and in the right context Jesus supplies all of that and it’s more than you could ever drum up on your own.

man. that hits home. 

I think I spend more time trying to figure out the theme of my blog, than actually putting any thought to it. and the thing is, who really looks at the theme, i think it’s the actual content that makes people come back…hah so maybe i should work on that. on that note, i can’t believe over a year has passed since I moved to Boston. holy cow. more updates with actual readable content to come…i promise. 

last night I went to my favorite place in all of Boston for an end of summer bbq. the one and only Eastern Standard hosted an amazing spread on the patio..full of family style sharing and big plates. i must say, i’ve never felt quite at home in the north. a stuffed whole cooked pig with sausage, mac and cheese, baked beans, corn on the cob, heirloom tomato salad, biscuits and potato salad rounded out one of the best meals i’ve eaten in quite some time. not to mention i had some very lovely company. i love how the south warms the hearts (and stomachs) of everyone around :)

come on skinny love, just last the year

i’m so so behind on my blog that i’ve decided to just briefly update and then continue on! 

1. I’ve been traveling…a lot. Since May I’ve been to San Francisco twice, San Diego, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Napa,  Palm Beach, Jersey and Chicago.. twice. Oh and Georgia. Phew. 
2. It’s wedding season! So excited for all of my friends getting married and so pumped to be able to attend and be in some!
3. I’ve been exploring a lot of great new restaurants (will update with pics later!) 
4. I’m finally taking vacation next week! I. cannot. wait. 
5. I just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy…update later. Not fun. 
6. Spotify and Google+ are legit. Join them. 
7. Boston in the summer is so lovely. I wish I could move this city to a warmer location year round :) 
8. “Home” by Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros is my jam right now. 
9. My friends and family are the best, and super supportive. 
10. I’m still a fan of lists! 

I’m out in Phoenix for business so I knew I had to try out one of Phoenix’s hot spots. The problem with that was….what was a hotspot restaurant in Phoenix. After yielding negative results doing web searches I turned my attention the Travel Channel. Problem Solved. 

The cute and unassuming Barrio Cafe provided an authentic twist on mexican cuisine. Guacamole made at your table with a fresh surprise of pomegranate seeds started the night off well. Coke out of the bottle made with real sugar complemented the Pollo Pablano’s sweet yet spicy tomatillo sauce. I could go on and on about this wonderful place, but I’ve got to run back to the airport! Regardless…if you’re in Phoenix, you must go here! Perrrffeect dining experience!

This little drink has transitioned from winter to spring…from the warm caramel macchiato to the cool iced version, it has sustained my non-coffee drinking self. Just like being a regular at a restaurant, having a signature Starbucks drink is a must, it makes you feel somewhat at home in a rather chain corporate coffee shop. Another plus, drinking it with a view of the Boston Commons and Gardens…ah it never gets old. Now, if only the weather could catch up…55 in May puhlease.
